How to tune a piano
There are 2 schools of thought as to tuning a piano. Tune it with an electronic tuning machine or tune your piano by engaging a professional tuner who tunes by ear. In my opinion the hiring of a professional with a trained ear is always going to be the best as he/she will leave it in the most suitable condition that gives the best sound. An electronic tuning machine relies on the reading of a digital scale which leaves the tuning almost too perfect according to the readings. This often leads to a finished sound too sharp for the comfort of the human ear to enjoy. Engage a professional, build up a relationship with him/her and they will keep your piano in the best possible condition for you to enjoy.
